While we’re on the subject of Star Trek, I wanted to also bring this up.
Why is it that Science Fiction has done more to help me understand God than my church or the religion I was raised in? And I’m not just talking about Star Trek. I’m talking about a lot of Science Fiction literature I’ve read. Carl Sagan’s books Contact and Demon Haunted World have brought me closer to God than the Bible ever has.
How is that possible?

Far Beyond The Stars
If you can watch this episode without losing your shit, then you don’t have a heart. Far Beyond the Stars is a zenith of Star Trek. I think it proves unequivocally that Deep Space 9 is not only the best of the Star Trek series, but better than anything that’s come since.
